Now.....

Now is the time to pen down the random thoughts that are playing in my mind. The concept of now is so momentary that you can hardly perceive when it becomes then. Lets consider a tag line from a telecom company that says aloud "one second can change your life........" and this specific second is the "now" of the moment.

Such high impact one seconds are rare to find, but a span of time that consists of several such nows definitely deserves consideration. One common question that many of us face is where do you find yourself  ** years from now? Most of the times it is answered with hopes, aspirations and anticipations and sometimes with thorough cluelessness or whatever comes to our mind in that order.

If the same question asks us to reflect back some time from now, each one of us have different stories to tell some of them speaks about triumphs and success, some about open eyed dreams , some about limitations, defeats and some with the same cluelessness as mentioned above.

At the dawn of a new decade( I know I am late by 2yrs...but editing & publishing takes time!!), here's my take on all the now moments that I've had in the last decade.
Early 2000:
I had to clear my first ever board exams ,(bored exams should be more apt), that too with decent score to opt for Science.
Mid 2000:
Oh, sometime in between Hrittik Roshan happened, i was floored but I wanted to be an engineer .. dream filled eyes.. and a tough time ahead.
2001:
In plus two Science is tough, I just found out I'm not as bright as I perceived. My assessment scores were miserable, I no longer wanted to be ANYTHING / ANYONE.... just wanted to get over with exams.
2002:
Most plus two students were under huge academic pressure and I was no exception. I took 2/3 absolutely necessary exams in order to survive.

Mid 2002:
I survived and how! I got into an engineering college and some of the best days of my life began.
2002-2006:
Those were the best days...days that made me a person or better to say an individual out of a school pass out girl. I met with absolutely amazing people, though with some skepticism in the beginning, only to realize later that this was the beginning of a lifetime friendship. They have been and still are my pillars of support, of fun, of foolishness and of what not!!
June 2006:
I completed my engineering course. Results were out and I decided to take a sabbatical for studies, not to mention a promising job was awaiting me. This also brought the ominous fear that all the wonderful friends have to be separated, at least meeting would not be a regular affair any longer.
July 2006:
With nervous steps I entered the corporate world.Had lot of doubts whether I'd be able to survive this journey. Some people warned me about the new life of responsibilities and some on a lighter note offered me a choice between baldness & grey hair in approaching years. Among all these the most memorable part was the paycheck!! Nothing beats a first income.
2007 - 2008:
Life sailed through on the professional front. Realized what exactly it is to be a software professional. This was the time when the typical industry jokes & mirth started to make true sense. Recession & aspirations were on an all time high....... Sourav Ganguly retired from international cricket.
2009:
My first international travel. There was apprehension of what next and the excitement of 'finally its my turn'. With many first times of my small life , those 6 weeks can be definitely make into the highlights.

2010:
Got promoted! Practically my two expectations from my job came to a full circle. Went abroad on company's expense & got a taste of promotion... thus I was rendered ambition less once again :) I was free and slowly began to become headache of my family......and boy, that was real enjoyable.

That's more or less a precis of all the 'nows' of my life in the last decade. ...... the new decade has begun lots of things to look forward to & some things to carry forward   and some bygone days those with time would be cherished  more than ever.
